Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient healing modality and only one of the five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the others being herbal remedies, food as medicine, massage, and moving meditation (Tai Chi)
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, sterile, single use, hairlike needles into specific areas of the body to increase circulation, or in acupuncture talk, the flow of Qi and Blood to relieve pain, decrease inflammation and calm the mind.
Acupuncture has evolved over the centuries and has made its way around the world. But how does it work?
There are theories about how acupuncture works, such as reorienting the water molecules in the fascia to effect changes throughout the body. Acupuncture needles acting as a conductor to enhance positive and negatively charged ionic exchanged. But, the truth is, no one knows for sure.
Memorial Sloan Kettering performed many brain imaging studies with the application of acupuncture points vs sham acupuncture points before they introduced acupuncture into their integrative medicine department. They found that specific brain activity was recognizable and repeatable when using classical acupuncture points as opposed to sham acupuncture points. They found that acupuncture was safe and effective, but said that our technology does not go deep enough to understand exactly how it works.
How can acupuncture help you?
Studies have shown that acupuncture points are rich in arterioles, nerve endings, and mast cells. They also have high electrical conductivity and low electrical resistance. It's been observed that acupuncture helps release our bodies natural pain relieving neurotransmitters, endorphins, enkephalins, and cytokines to provide an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. Because acupuncture improves circulation, macrophages, a white blood cell helps clearing cellular debris through phagocytosis. Overall, acupuncture modulates the peripheral and central nervous system to achieve homeostasis or balance in our bodies.
Often times, acupuncture is a treatment modality of last resort for some people when they have tried everything else without the hoped for results. But, acupuncture should be part of your "go to" tool box to help us all achieve and maintain health and wellness.

Breathwork
Life can cause us to not breathe correctly, and it can have an impact on our entire physiology. Often, our breath is shallow, labored, and taken through the mouth. We may be over-breathing or chest-breathing without even realizing it because we think of our breath as automatic and involuntary.
Breathwork is breathing with your full attention and breathing with intention, or consciously breathing. When we take conscious control over our breath, we can help to regulate the nervous system, release emotion, stress and trauma from the body, think clearer, expand awareness, feel lighter, calmer, more joyful, happier and healthier! In an Elemental Rhythm Breakthrough Experience session we will use movement to stir up this energy in the body, then breath to build the energy, a guided mediation to move the energy to experience a breakthrough and then we will let the energy settle.
You will be guided the entire session by breathworth specialist, Lisa Hastings, who will hold space and facilitate a transformative experience for you.

Sound Therapy
Sound healing techniques have been practiced for thousands of years, from times when the lapping of ocean waves was considered a source of healing to the chantings of Tibetan monks.
This type of therapy has recently gained popularity in western medicine as a result of studies conducted on its therapeutic value and people looking for alternatives to modern medicine.
Sound Healing has been practiced in all known cultures in one form or another. The ancient healing traditions of the Aborigines, Tibetans, Indians, Egyptians and Greeks all used sound as a powerful medicinal therapy. Indigenous people all over the planet were aware of the relationship between sound and healing and how it can be used to access higher states of consciousness.
As sound passes through you, it balances your body, mind and spirit by clearing blockages in the energy flow and helping your body to release tension and stress. Some people have a feeling of well-being after a sound healing session. Others may feel like they need to drink water and rest.
Sound therapy is not just an alternative treatment; it is a valid means of addressing a wide range of conditions. Many people have found that it helps them overcome stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and even addictions. It is also useful for those who are dealing with chronic illness or disease.
Experience sound therapy with a certified master sound healer and feel the difference.
